AJF & Associates was founded in 1992 to address public and private sector management problems.  The philosophy of AJF & Associates is to provide responsive and cost-effective services to our clients.  AJF & Associates is headed by ARTHUR JAMES FARRAR, MS.  Mr. Farrar has acquired over 30 years of professional experience in federal, state and local law enforcement.  He has provided in-house consulting services and has taught college level classes for a variety of agencies in Southern California.  Mr. Farrar holds earned degrees in Criminal Justice and Management.  

AJF & Associates consists of experts in criminal justice, both active and retired, who possess a wide variety of expertise in management issues and law enforcement techniques.  AJF & Associates offer a professional, responsive and cost-effective approach to solving your organizational problems.  

Management Problem Solving

AJF & Associates offer problem solving services to both large and small organizations.  Our firm can provide initial consultation and preliminary proposals without charge.  We can analyze problems and propose cost-effective solutions for immediate use.  Our expertise includes audits, staff evaluations, strategic planning and performance standards as well as policy and procedure development.  

Employee Training

AJF & Associates  can deliver basic, technical, supervisory, management and executive level training to suit your needs.  We will develop curriculum tailored to address your concerns.  Training can be offered on your premises during day or evening hours as well as on weekends.  

Law Enforcement Liaison

There is a crucial need for public and private organizations to work closely with criminal justice agencies in their communities.  AJF & Associates can provide liaison services between organizations to facilitate a higher level of cooperation and understanding of common goals and needs.  Our firm has had extensive experience providing these services over the years.  

Summary

Mr. Farrar has over 30 years of experience in military, state and local law enforcement. He retired as a lieutenant from the Ventura, California Police Department in 1993. During his tenure with the Ventura PD, he served in all divisions of the department and as both a pre and in-service instructor/coordinator/manager of training and education services. He also performed liaison duties for a variety of public and private organizations. He received his master's degrees in Criminology/Law Enforcement and Management. He holds advanced California Peace Officer (POST) certificates in Supervision and Management. He is also a graduate of the POST Command College and has a lifetime instructor credential for the Community College system. Since his retirement, he has provided management, training and security consultations services for a variety of public and private organizations. He has authored articles on a variety of law enforcement topics and is a contributor to COP TALES 2000. Since 1992, Mr. Farrar has owned and operated AJF & Associates, a management consulting and training firm based in Southern California.  In August of 2000, Mr. Farrar was appointed as an assistant professor and law enforcement coordinator at American River College and the Public Safety Center in Sacramento, California. In 2001, Mr. Farrar was appointed to the position of full time instructor and chairman of the Administration of Justice Department at Monterey Peninsula College. In 2004, he was granted tenure and given the MPC Foundation George J. (Bob) Faul Award for Academic Excellence to develop the first ADMJ on-line academic course for MPC.
